Reading through the Bible is a big task, and it's easy to get bogged down with all of the details early on. Here are some helpful resources to give insight and clarity as you go.
Jesus in All of the Bible Podcast breaks down the Bible into small sections and, in about 3-5 minutes, gives a recap of the verses and how Jesus and the Gospel are present in the passage.
52 Weeks in the Word Podcast corresponds with our reading plan and author Trillia Newbell takes about 8 minutes in each episode to chat with Bible teachers on that week's reading, providing guidance for how to approach, appreciate, and apply the text.
The Bible Project contains "free educational resources to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus" and is a great resource for book overviews as well as articles and other material to aid in personal Bible reading and study.
Dwell Bible App is an audio Bible app that allows listeners to change settings of music, translation, reader's voice, and speed and has many playlists and Bible listening plans along with an option to choose books and chapters. There's a really helpful new feature that lets users listen and read the Bible at the same time, which is so helpful for trickier passages that sometimes cause us to want to stop reading altogether. There's a free trial on the site for new users!
